The Adelaide Football Club is relatively young but has been represented by more than 200 footballers in its first 25 years.

Our aim is to develop a vibrant and effective Past Players and Officials association and we encourage past players and officials to become involved.

Rod Jameson is Chairman of the Board. Other Board members include – Nick Takos (Deputy Chairman), John Condon (Secretary), Peter Caven, Stephen Rowe, Kym Koster, Shane Fuller, Barrie Downs and Nigel Smart.

We also plan to build a database of all past players, to allow us to keep them informed of events.

For further information and how to join, please contact Football Operations Assistant Ann Pilkington on 8440 6624 or email apilkington@afc.com.au

PP Welfare Program HEADER.jpg

The nature of our sport of AFL and the transition from the football environment to the “normality” of life may present challenges for many of our past players. Some will cope with the transition well, some may struggle and others may fall upon hard times in the years ahead.

One of the core objectives of the Board of the Adelaide Football Club Past Players & Officials is to be available to support our own past players that need assistance beyond their own network of family, friends and their own means.

Purpose
To provide welfare support on a needs basis to past players of the Adelaide Football Club.

Forms of Support
The type of support provided may consist of:

• Referral and assistance in seeking support from the AFLPA and other bodies;

• Moral support through contact made by members of the Welfare Committee of the PP&O – this may be as simple as catching up with a past player for coffee or a phone call;

• Upon completing an application, possible financial grant for medical needs of past players whom are not covered by insurance and are experiencing financial hardship;

• Other support at the discretion of the Welfare Committee.

Confidentiality
The Board of the Adelaide Football Club PP&O undertakes to retain the confidentiality of the past player contact and case details, restricting the sharing of information only to the Welfare Committee of the Adelaide Football Club PP&O unless agreement is provided by the past player for others to be involved or for information to be disclosed.
