The Crows and Giants clash in round 11

Greater Western Sydney has breathed new life into its season with a stunning 16-point win over Adelaide on Sunday evening.

The Giants, who were coming off four straight losses, turned in their best performance of the year to seal the 14.13 (97) to 11.15 (81) victoryat Adelaide Oval.

Jeremy Cameron was the difference with three goals, including two crackers in the final term.

"Probably one of the better wins for a number of years," Giants coach Leon Cameron said.

"To get a win over here, we hadn't done that against the Crows, is just enormous for our club."

The victory was the Giants' first over the Crows in Adelaide and was built around the midfield dominance of Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly.

Coniglio, who finished the game with a suspected concussion, kicked two goals among his 24 disposals and Kelly was brilliant with 31 touches.

Fellow onballers Dylan Shiel (30 possessions, one goal), Lachie Whitfield (26 disposals) and Jacob Hopper (21 touches) were also influential as the Giants banked a precious away win.

Zac Langdon played the game of his career with three majors, while veteran Ryan Griffen also booted three.

The Crows lost Tom Lynch to a suspected abdomen injury and have suffered defeats in three of their past four games to drop out of the top eight.

Adelaide's Bryce Gibbs (36 possessions), Matt Crouch (37 disposals) and Rory Laird (30 touches) found plenty of the ball, but the their attack became overly reliant on the buzz of Eddie Betts (two goals).

Paul Seedsman and Richard Douglas also slotted two majors but GWS held the running before an Adelaide Oval crowd of 44,120 spectators.

"We are missing a bit of spark," Crows coach Don Pyke said.

"Their effort was there, we just missed some opportunities."

The Giants led by 19 points at half-time and were 12 up at the last change, only for the Crows to threaten to pinch the points.

When young Crow Darcy Fogarty goaled from the boundary line three minutes into the last quarter, Adelaide hit the front.

But it was the Giants and their spearhead Cameron who settled the encounter - he kicked two clutch late goals and Langdon added another.

The Giants, now with five wins for the season, are just two points behind eighth-placed Port Adelaide.

MEDICAL ROOM
Adelaide: The Crows' forward line depth could be tested again with Tom Lynch suffering a side strain. It occurred during the second quarter when the acting captain copped a boot from Callan Ward in a tackle. He briefly tried to come back on but was clearly struggling and was eventually ruled out late in the third term. Scans in the coming days will reveal the damage. Richard Douglas copped a poke in the eye late in the final term and sat on the bench but he should be available next week.

Greater Western Sydney: Stephen Coniglio suffered a knock to the head late in the third quarter. He felt OK at three-quarter time and took to the field for the opening five minutes in the fourth term before delayed concussion set in. He was in good spirits in the change rooms after the final siren but will go through concussion tests during the week.

NEXT UP
The Giants will be confident of recording back-to-back victories when they host Gold Coast, who are coming off an 85-point drubbing against Geelong. The Crows head west to take on Fremantle, who have only lost once to a visiting team at Optus Stadium this year.
