Brad Symes signalled his return to football with a very good game for Central District on Saturday.

Playing his first game since last year’s semi-final against Collingwood after getting over his knee trouble, Symes collected 14 kicks, 18 handballs and 11 marks in the Bulldogs win over the Eagles. Jonathon Griffin was also outstanding for Central District with 22 possessions and 29 hitouts in a dominant ruck display. Ricky Henderson had 14 possessions, four marks and kicked a goal for the Bulldogs.

For the Eagles, Luke Thompson had 12 possessions and five marks and controlled his opponent well especially in the first half.

Aidan Riley had a solid game for Sturt in their loss to Port Adelaide. He collected 15 possessions and five marks and played a ‘run with’ role on Jeremy Clayton. Matthew Jaensch had 20 possessions at half back for the Double Blues and had a solid game on a number of opponents.

Three Crows featured in North Adelaide’s 29 point win over West Adelaide at Prospect. Matthew Wright played up forward and on the ball and had 22 possessions and five tackles and was clean with his disposal.

Tony Armstrong produced a solid game at half back collecting 23 possessions and he used the ball well. Rory Sloane received a bad corky early in the game but played out the match and had 15 possessions in a solid game at half back.

James Sellar kicked a goal and collected 11 disposals and eight marks in Glenelg’s big win over South Adelaide at Noarlunga. Shaun McKernan kicked three goals and had 16 hitouts for the Panthers while Daniel Talia picked up nine possessions in defence but battled a ‘corkie’.

In the SANFL reserves Brian Donnelly had a solid game for Central District with 13 possessions and three marks in defence. Sam Shaw had 20 possessions and four marks in his second game for Glenelg.
