Bernie Vince was one of the Eagles best in their win over Port Magpies on Saturday afternoon.

Playing predominantly as a midfielder, Vince had 24 kicks, nine handballs, nine marks and kicked two goals when he pushed forward late in the game.

For the Magpies, ruckman Ivan Maric had 12 disposals, three marks and kicked three goals playing in the ruck and up forward, and his work in the middle helped lift his team.

Rookie Tim Milera had 10 possessions, four marks and kicked three goals playing as a crumbing forward.

Rookie Aidan Riley had another solid performance for Sturt in their loss to Central District at Unley. He spent half the game in the midfield and collected 15 handballs and eight kicks, seven clearances and when moved forward he kicked one goal.

Brodie Martin had seven kicks, seven handballs and three marks for the Double Blues playing across half back and the wing.

2010 draftee Jarryd Lyons returned to Glenelg’s league side and collected 13 disposals and three tackles in the midfield, and he kicked two classy goals when playing as a forward.

James Sellar played in the ruck and up forward for the Tigers and showed good aggression all day, collecting 13 disposals, six marks and he kicked two goals.

Myke Cook played for South Adelaide’s seniors and had six kicks, 10 handballs and four tackles and his use of the ball by hand was very good.

In the SANFL reserves, Sam Shaw had a good game for Glenelg in his second game back from injury. He collected 13 handballs, nine kicks and two marks and his skills were good throughout the game.

Rookie Jake von Bertouch was good for the Eagles playing up forward despite his side being heavily beaten. He kicked three goals from limited opportunities and had nine possessions and six marks.

Sam Martyn had 18 possessions and eight marks on the wing for the Eagles and after a slow start to his game ran hard to get his disposals.

Lachlan Roach started well for North Adelaide’s reserves on a wing, collecting five disposals in the first 15 minutes before getting injured and he played no further part in the game.
