Adelaide will play Fremantle in a trial match at AAMI Stadium in late February.

The Crows open their NAB Cup campaign against Port Adelaide and St Kilda at AAMI Stadium on Sunday, February 17 and did not have an official game scheduled the following week.

But the AFL has allowed Adelaide and Fremantle to organise a game for Saturday, February 23, to start at 10am at AAMI Stadium.

Acting football operations general manager David Noble said the hit-out would ensure the Club had at least four consecutive weekends of games.

“If you don’t make the NAB Cup grand final, you can’t play on the weekend before the opening round of the premiership season, so the coaches were keen to get some continuity in our pre-season playing schedule,” he said.

Adelaide’s first full-length NAB Cup commitment is against Geelong Cats (at Geelong) on March 2 and it then hosts Carlton at AAMI Stadium on March 8.
