West Adelaide has ended its 2014 SANFL losing streak in fine style, thumping Central District by 64 points at Richmond Oval on Sunday.

And at the other end of the premiership table, South Adelaide lost its first game of the season against the Eagles at Noarlunga.

West’s win, the first under new coach Mark Mickan, was achieved on the back of a six goal first term and a captain’s game from former Crows rookie Chris Schmidt (35 possessions).

Former South forward Michael Wundke booted six goals for the Eagles, who needed to kick the last three goals of the game to overcome an injury-hit Panthers side by 10 points at Noarlunga.

Brett Eddy booted five goals for South, taking his season tally to 27 from five games.

In Friday night’s game, Norwood bounced back with a 17 point win over Glenelg.
