Wingman David Mackay is one of five Crows who will face fitness tests ahead of Adelaide’s clash with Greater Western Sydney at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday.

Mackay, who was concussed early in the Club’s loss to Essendon, sat out Sunday’s Showdown win after failing to overcome the after effects of the head knock.

Sam Kerridge (foot) and Rory Laird (quad) were both late withdrawals from the Crows team to play Port Adelaide. Both will need to prove their fitness at training later in the week. Exciting forward Charlie Cameron, who has missed three games with groin soreness, will also increase his workload with the hope of playing this weekend.

Utility Ricky Henderson (corked thigh) is available for selection, while defender Sam Shaw could return from a hamstring complaint in the SANFL on Friday night. Veteran defender Ben Rutten, who was rested on the weekend, and young midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen (finger) are also ready to resume.

Forward Jared Petrenko (stress fracture) hopes to be back playing within a month, while Lewis Johnston is still seven weeks away after undergoing surgery to repair a tendon in his hand. Skipper Nathan van Berlo is still optimistic of a late-season comeback from a serious Achilles injury.

The Crows will have an open training session at GIANTS Stadium in Western Sydney from about 1pm (Sydney time) on Friday, July 4. This will be the Club’s only open training session this week.

Adelaide’s next home game is against ladder leaders Hawthorn on Friday, July 11. The blockbuster match is nearing a sell-out. Secure your place at the game and two other big matches by becoming a Bronze 3-game Member.
