It’s been an incredible week for Crows Ambassadors in the sporting sphere.

On the weekend, South Australian Sam Willoughby secured a BMX World Championships double in Rotterdam. The Olympic silver medallist claimed the time trial on Saturday and backed up with victory in the men's elite race on Sunday – regaining the title he won in 2012. Willoughby will be at Adelaide Oval on Saturday to watch the Crows take on West Coast.

There was also a distinct Adelaide flavour on two wheels at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

South Aussies and Crows fans, Jack Bobridge and Alex Edmondson, teamed up to win gold in the team pursuit and then went head-to-head in the final of the individual pursuit. Bobridge beat Edmondson in the individual pursuit to take his tally to two gold for the Games. Edmondson, 20, finished the meet with one gold and one silver.

His feat was matched by older sister, Annette Edmondson, who claimed silver in the individual pursuit and her first gold in the women’s scratch race. The Edmondsons made history by becoming the first brother and sister to ride for Australia in the same Commonwealth Games. Annette had previously competed at three World Championships and an Olympic Games all with podium finishes just missing out on that elusive Gold Medal.

“At the last three World Championships and Olympics I have only come home with Silver and Bronze and I know that’s quite cool but it’s not the same as getting a Gold. And so I finally managed to do that with the help of my teammates Amy Cure and Mel Hoskins,” she said.

“To come so close and to finally win was an emotional one for me. I was lucky to have the support of my teammates Amy and Mel out there, so to be able to share that win with them is so special”.

Ambassador and Australia’s greatest-ever Paralympian, Matt Cowdrey OAM, added another medal to his impressive collection, claiming silver in the 100m Freestyle S9. An avid Crows fan, Cowdrey also made time to watch the Club’s 16-point win over Collingwood on Sunday night.

Congratulations to all our Ambassadors on their achievements!
