The SANFL Crows remain in contention for an inaugural finals berth in the Club’s maiden season in the local competition.

Adelaide’s resounding 68-point win over Woodville-West Torrens on Sunday has kept the Crows in touch with the top five in what looms as a grandstand finish to the SANFL season. Eight sides are separated by just three wins with just three rounds remaining before finals.

2014 has been a tipster’s nightmare for SANFL fans such has been the closeness of the competition. Round 15 provided an accurate reflection of how the season has evolved, with four of the five games won by the lower ranked side on the SANFL table.

Percentage could be the key for the Crows, who currently sit in eighth position just two wins outside the top five.

Adelaide must topple bottom-placed Glenelg this Saturday afternoon at the Bay after falling to the Tigers by 37 points back in Round Four. Glenelg recorded just its third win of the season over West Adelaide last weekend and will be eager to finish the season on a positive note.

The Crows’ finals credentials will then be truly tested in Round 17’s clash with Sturt. The Double Blues have thrived in 2014, but must be keen to arrest a recent slump after dropping three of their past four matches.

Adelaide’s finals hopes could then rest on the Club’s closing clash of the season at The Parade against Norwood. The match will provide an opportunity for the SANFL Crows to right their wrongs, after Adelaide surrendered a five-goal lead the last time the two sides met in arguably the team’s most disappointing performance of the year.
