New York-based Australian band goodbyemotel will perform for the first time in Adelaide before Saturday night’s Crows game.

And band member Tom Marks is excited about returning to his home town, for both the show and the football.

“I’m a massive (Crows) fan, there was no saying no to that one,” he said.

“It’s actually the first time we play in my home town. It’s a nice big one to start with so that’s exciting.”

goodbyemotel last week released a new single, “Hurricane”, and their new album “If” will be released later this year.

The recording was produced by Kevin Killen, who has worked with Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and U2, and the album cover has been designed by Storm Thorgerson, who created covers for Pink Floyd.

The band formed in Melbourne in 2008 and later moved to New York. Their song “Set it Off” from their People EP was featured in a Chrysler advertisement and also TV shows Gossip Girl, Covert Affairs and Suits.

Saturday night’s live performance on the Hill at Adelaide Oval will start at 6.37pm. They will also play a short set at half-time.
