IT WOULD be a small luxury not to have to worry about Daniel Wells and Brent Harvey on Saturday, says Adelaide midfielder Brodie Martin, but their absence wouldn't make beating North Melbourne much easier.

Wells will miss Saturday's game in Hobart after being found guilty of both striking and rough conduct in the club's win over the Western Bulldogs last weekend. Harvey was suspended for three games for two counts of misconduct against Liam Picken.

The loss of the pair would be significant for the Kangaroos but although describing them as two classy players, the Crows' Martin insisted a club of North Melbourne's calibre would have worthy replacements.

"Not necessarily easier, that's two of their best players that we don't have to worry about so much but, I think they're sixth ... you're not in that position from not having depth," Martin said.

"Teams these days pride themselves on having depth, so they're going to have people to come in and fill those roles.

"We don’t put a whole lot of effort into people individually so it's still about doing those processes right and defending as a team.

"Pretty much it was just our defence, we didn't defend well [against Richmond], I think we allowed high-50 inside 50s and if you do that for any team you're gong to struggle to stop them scoring."

Martin tipped veteran Crow Scott Thompson to play, after he was again sidelined last weekend due to his back-related hamstring issue.

Wingman David Mackay will likely undergo a concussion test on Thursday after being subbed out of last Saturday's loss to Richmond.

Season 2014 has proved Martin's best by some distance; his 15 games this year were preceded by just 18 since his debut in 2009.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the year and although he didn't say whether a new deal was in the works, if the opportunity arose to remain a Crow he said he'd snap it up.

"I've been out of contract all year, I guess it's probably allowed me to play some good football," he said.

"I was at peace with it pretty early and just accepted that that's how it was and it was sort of now or never."
