The 19th Man holds the record for the highest AFL home game attendance in Season 2014.

Loyal Crows members and supporters secured the No.1 ranking at Adelaide Oval on Sunday after another 44,969 fans turned out for the Club’s final minor-round match against St Kilda.

The Round 23 attendance increased Adelaide’s total to 528,508 for the season, which averaged out to 48,046 across 11 home games this season. The figure is slightly more than second-placed Collingwood, which attracted 528,079 fans to its 11 home matches at an average of 48,007.

Another Victorian powerhouse, Essendon, is third (495,733) while Port Adelaide is fourth (489,726), accentuating the resurgence of football in South Australia this year. Last year, 369,740 fans watched the 11 Crows home games in the Club’s final season at AAMI Stadium.

Adelaide is the highest-ranked Non-Victorian team in home-and-away attendance this season. A total of 821,834 fans have attended games involving the Crows, which includes matches at Spotless Stadium, the Gabba and an under construction Blundstone Arena.

On Sunday, the Crows also celebrated the 1 millionth fan to go through the turnstiles for an AFL game at the redeveloped Adelaide Oval this season.

Adelaide has smashed its total home season attendance. The previous highest total home season attendance at Football Park/AAMI Stadium was 489,765 from 11 games in 2003. The previous highest average crowd in a season was 46,226 in 1993 when there were 10 home games.

And although Adelaide’s 2003 record of 51,140 at AAMI Stadium remains number one, six of this year’s games are now ranked among the top eight all-time Crows home venue attendances. Adelaide has had four 50,000-plus crowds at Adelaide Oval. The biggest crowd was 50,552 against Port Adelaide in round 15.

Gold Coast (49,069) and GWS Giants (44,770) played in front of their biggest ever crowds in their games against the Crows at Adelaide Oval. The lowest crowd this season for an Adelaide game at Adelaide Oval was 44,216 against Melbourne on May 3.

The Crows also boast record membership numbers in 2014. Earlier this month, the AFL released its official membership audit results, showing Adelaide reached 54,294 members to the end of July.

Congratulations and thank you to all our members and supporters for your unwavering support in a frustrating 2014 season. Hope to see you next year! #gocrows
