ADELAIDE star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield is settled in South Australia, his manager Paul Connors says.

There was increasing speculation last week that the Crows would look to move on Dangerfield, after board member Mark Ricciuto didn't rule out a trade for the 24-year-old before he becomes a free agent ahead of the 2016 season.

Dangerfield then told AFL.com.au he would leave a decision about a possible trade in the hands of the club, also stating his awareness that conjecture about his future would heighten during the season.

As a result, a number of Melbourne based clubs rang to make inquiries about Dangerfield's services.

Dangerfield recently bought into a pub in Adelaide with Ricciuto and Crows teammates Taylor Walker and Rory Sloane, indicating his long-term future is at West Lakes.

Connors said he intended to speak with Dangerfield after he returned home from a trip with his father. But as far as Connors is concerned Dangerfield will not be moving clubs.

"I think he's pretty happy at Adelaide at the moment," Connors told NAB AFL Trade Radio.

"I don't think the Crows would entertain anything. You've got to be loath to trade away just terrific players like that."

In a wide-ranging interview, Connors also revealed:

  • His belief that Essendon players will consider future deals with ASADA.
  • That Fremantle veteran Luke McPharlin is set to play on next season; "I'll sit down with (Fremantle list manager) Brad Lloyd. It looks like a tick".
  • Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes is likely to play in 2015.
  • Demon Jack Watts is keen to remain at Melbourne.
  • Giant Dylan Shiel does not want a trade from Greater Western Sydney.
