An amazing one-hander from Scott Thompson in his 250th game has taken out the 2014 Crows Mark of the Year title.

Thompson’s effort earned almost a third of the total vote to take top spot ahead of James Podsiadly and Patrick Dangerfield.

Celebrating his milestone game on Easter Sunday against the GWS Giants in Round Five, Thompson produced a vintage performance to help the Crows to their second win of the season.

The two-time Club Champion would collect 38 possessions, nine clearances and two Brownlow votes in Adelaide’s 65-point victory. But his finest moment of the match came in the early minutes of the second term.

Left-footer Sam Shaw speared a ball inside 50m that looked as though it would sail just beyond Thompson’s reach at the northern end of the ground. But the crafty midfielder brought a capacity crowd at Adelaide Oval to its feet with an incredible one-handed pluck at full stretch.

Ever the team man, Thompson then spotted up a leading Patrick Dangerfield on the opposite flank with a pinpoint pass as if it was all part of the plan.

He also hauled down another one-handed mark at the southern end of the ground later in the match.
