The Crows have selected defender Keenan Ramsey with pick No.27 in the AFL Rookie Draft.

Ramsey is a tall defender with the ability to shut down his opponent while also providing good rebound. He uses the ball well by foot and wins it well in the air and at ground level.

The Port Magpies backman played all six matches in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships averaging 10 disposals as South Australia's number one tall defender, rarely having his colours lowered. He registered the only perfect score in the goalkicking test at the draft combine in October. From Port Lincoln.

Ramsey boarded at Sacred Heart College this year and played a few SANFL reserves games with Port Adelaide Magpies.

Brenton Phillips, SANFL: "Keenan's a beauty, a great kid. He lost an eye at an early age. He had a prosthetic eye put in after he had cancer as a young kid. He looks like an AFL footballer in the way he moves, and the way he kicks. He's a good size and we played him predominantly as a defender but I've seen him go forward and be damaging down there. He's a country boy from Port Lincoln and he boards at Sacred Heart. I didn't know about the eye until he came into the squad and someone mentioned it, but you would never notice it watching him play, he's super clean with how he takes the ball."
