A number of Crows were valuable Fantasy selections in 2014.

Rory Sloane finished fifth in the competition for total points scored (2,301) in what was the best AFL Fantasy season of his career.

Sam Jacobs was the standout ruckman of last season, beating the likes of Aaron Sandilands and Todd Goldstein to be the top-scoring big man of the comp.

Adelaide was also well-represented in defence with Matthew Jaensch (8th) and All Australian backman Brodie Smith (11th) among the leading scorers.

Dual-position MID/FWD Patrick Dangerfield was another popular selection and ranked sixth in the AFL for total points scored by a forward.

A number of bargain Crows could also be on the radar next Fantasy season, with youngster Matt Crouch and injury-hit pair Tom Lynch and Nathan van Berlo likely to be well-priced in 2015.

The upcoming release of positions and prices is sure to contain some surprises, as well as the prospect of a few bargains to tempt ambitious coaches.

Positional changes have been based on analytics from Champion Data's heat maps from last season, with a few big-name Fantasy players picking up dual-position status heading into next year.

Dane Swan might have a few regrets about a 'putrid' 2014 season, but his time spent resting up forward could reap a bonanza for Fantasy coaches next year.

Swan will be classed as a MID/FWD next season after a storied Fantasy career spent purely as a midfielder.

Notable premium players Brendon Goddard (now MID/FWD) and Brett Deledio (MID/FWD) are also likely to feature in plenty of Fantasy squads next year as they become dual-position options.

Other strong Fantasy scorers gaining a position next year include bullocking Roo Jack Ziebell (MID/FWD after a useful 18 goals in 2014), new Lion Allen Christensen (MID/FWD) and 2008 Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney (MID/FWD).
