Iconic Australian artist Christine Anu dazzled nearly 1,000 fans at the Crows Foundation Christmas Carols on Wednesday night.

Crows fans of all ages packed onto The Shed floor for the popular event, headlined this year by Anu and hosted by former player Andrew Crowell and Channel 7 personality Amelia Mulcahy.

Anu, who has just released a new album Island Christmas, performed several Carols as well as a beautiful rendition of her famous hit My Island Home.

The talented singer and actress was joined on stage by the Woodville Concert Band, the Adelaide University Choral Society and the SA Public Primary Schools Choir. Comedy duo PJ Oaten and Matt Roberts also performed a couple of songs that resonated with the pro-Crows crowd.

The players sang (or attempted) Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer with the help of Crows Foundation Chairman Keith Conlon, and Nathan van Berlo returned to the stage to introduce the Club’s newest recruits. Coach Phil Walsh recapped the pre-season so far and Scott Thompson and Patrick Dangerfield talked about their Christmas plans.

One of the Foundation’s nominated charities in 2014, Down Syndrome SA, showed off their dance moves, with the Dance Down Performance Team earning a standing ovation from the audience.

The Crows Supporters Group fired up their sausage sizzle and were assisted by Matt Wright, Mitch Grigg, Rory Laird and new rookie Keenan Ramsey.

Father Christmas paid a visit, with Taylor Walker and James Podsiadly acting as his ‘helpers’.

Three lucky winners scored a team-signed guernsey or signed football as part of the raffle, with all proceeds going to the Crows Foundation. Carol-goers also generously donated more than 500 presents to the Toyota Christmas Tree. The presents will be distributed to The Smith Family and Time for Kids this Christmas.

The Adelaide Football Club would like to thank all the members and supporters who attended and supported the Crows Foundation, and everyone involved in making the night another success.
