Sarah Allan is one of the most talented female footballers in Australia.

At just 17 years of age Allan is one of two South Australians that was named in the All-Australian AFL women's youth team in 2014.

Allan, who lives in Millicent four hours south-east of Adelaide, will be in action on Adelaide Oval this Saturday when the best 44 AFL female footballers in the state play in an All Stars match from 11.15am as a curtain-raiser to the Adelaide v Melbourne AFL match.

The Western Bulldogs AFL Women's coach and former Collingwood premiership player Craig Starcevich will be at the game eyeing off talent to select in the AFL Women's draft to be held at Etihad Stadium on April 20. To ensure a new batch of players are able to experience the exhibition games, both the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne have retained only six players from their 2014 squads, giving the opportunity for younger girls to be selected.

Allan, who this year is old enough to be eligible for the AFL Women's draft, has a busy month ahead. The 175cm ruckman, who is in her final year of school, will lead the SA team in the U18 National Championships in Perth from May 1-9.

She is then expected to be selected in the SA open team to play Northern Territory at TIO Stadium on May 16.

If drafted on April 20, Allan, whose dad Keith played 69 games for Central Districts in the SANFL between 1987-92, will play in the AFL women's draft match at the MCG on May 24. A second match will take place at Etihad Stadium on August 16.

A premiership player in her first year with Salisbury in the SAWFL last year, Allan is also a talented basketballer and was recently named as reserve in the SA U20 State women's team.

Allan was at the Adelaide Football Club earlier this week, along with the rest of the two squads selected to play this Saturday, for the guernsey presentation.

Crows Head of Football David Noble spoke during the presentation and then took the squad on a tour of the Club's facilities.
