Thompson has also played 21 consecutive Showdowns, which is the biggest streak of Showdown games by a single player – well clear of the nearest challenger Travis Boak (12 consecutive games).

Crows games record holder and Club Hall of Famer Andrew McLeod leads all-comers in terms total Showdowns played with 27 appearances throughout his 340-game career.

Two-time Club Champion Thompson has been a reliable performer for an extended period with the Crows. He played 99 games straight to Round 20 last season when he was only forced out of the senior side due to injury.

Pre-season knee surgery delayed the ex-Demon’s start to Season 2015, but he has been one of Adelaide’s best performers since rejoining the team in Round Three against his former club.
