Four Crows recorded triple-figure scores in Round Seven as Adelaide regained its standing as the best Fantasy team in the AFL outside of reigning premiers Hawthorn.

The Crows have generated an average of 1,667 points per game, well up from last year’s average of 1,557 which had Adelaide ranked ninth in the competition.

Eddie Betts has been one of causes behind Adelaide’s rise up the Fantasy ranks. The livewire forward notched a team-high 123 points against the Saints on Saturday afternoon from 17 disposals, six marks, five tackles and six goals.

It was Eddie’s third Fantasy ton of the year and also the equal-third best score of his career. Betts’ big total was the second-highest score of all pure forwards for the round, behind only Hawks spearhead Jarryd Roughead.

Betts is now worth $467,000 – over $80k more than his starting price – and with a break even of just 52, the half-million dollar mark is within his reach against the Giants on Saturday. He’s kicked at least five goals in his past three games, and also booted five majors for 88 Fantasy points last time Adelaide played GWS in Round 16 last season.

Midfielders Scott Thompson (117) and Patrick Dangerfield (122) continued their fine Fantasy form last round and are the only Crows to average over 100 points per game this season.

‘Thommo’ leads the statistic for Adelaide, with his fourth ton from five matches raising his average to 104 points per game. ‘Danger’ isn’t far behind however, with an average of 102 points per round to be the only other Crow in triple figures.

They are the most expensive Crows available in AFL Fantasy at this stage of the season, and with good reason.

Just behind the duo in Adelaide’s Fantasy shopping list is Sam Jacobs ($529,000), who scored 112 points in Round Seven to be the second-best ruckman of the round behind former Crow Ivan Maric (118).

Jacobs is third overall for average points per round in the ruck category, but is the cheapest of the top three compared with Stefan Martin and Todd Goldstein. ‘Sauce’ remains a reliable ‘set and forget’ option in the ruck for the 20,000-plus coaches who have him in their side.

Rory Laird continues to fly under the Fantasy radar despite an outstanding start to the season.

The former rookie has notched back-to-back scores of 99 in the past fortnight, and has generated four scores in the 90s this season without yet dipping into triple-figure territory.

Laird is averaging a career-best 21 disposals per game and is well-priced at $395,000 with a generous break even of 40 heading into Round Eight.

Another underrated Crow is Tom Lynch, who continues to deliver solid scores after another 94-point performance against the Saints.

Consistency has been the knock on Lynch in recent times, but he’s put those concerns to bed with scores of 90 or above in his last six games, including two Fantasy tons. He’s proving to be one of the best mid-priced pickups of 2015 and has swelled by $133,000 since the start of the season.

Mitch Grigg is also worth a look. He’s one of eight dual-position Crows (FWD/MID) and has relished greater opportunities in the last two rounds with scores of 83 and 89.

The left-footer loves a goal. He’s kicked three in his past two games and is sure to attract the attention of Fantasy coaches if he can remain in Adelaide’s starting 22.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Nathan van Berlo remain the most-selected Crows. Most coaches saved their trades and held on to Ellis-Yolmen despite his recent hamstring injury. Thankfully, he’s in contention for a return to the side this week.
