Rookie Alex Keath has received jumper No.42 at the Adelaide Football Club.

Keath, 23, signed with the Crows as a Category-B Rookie in October. The talented sportsman is also playing grade cricket with Prospect and will honour that commitment over summer.

A 196cm, key-position footballer at junior level with Murray Bushrangers and Melbourne Grammar, Keath was listed by the Gold Coast Suns as a 17-year-old priority pick in 2010.

However, the AFL-AIS graduate opted to pursue a cricket career with Victoria. He has played seven first-class games for Victoria and also represented the Melbourne Stars in Twenty20 games.

The No.42 at Adelaide was most recently owned but not worn in an official AFL game by rookie Anthony Wilson.

Forward Charlie Cameron, who wore the jumper before taking over No.23, is the last player to have donned the No.42 in an AFL match for premiership points. Chad Rintoul played 23 games in the jumper, including the 1997 premiership.

There are now only five available numbers left at West Lakes: 1, 11, 30, 37 and 39.

The No.39 was vacated by Riley Knight, who has moved into No.3. Knight was the only existing Crow to request a change of numbers for Season 2016.

Three of the Club’s trade period recruits Troy Menzel (32), Curtly Hampton (17) and Dean Gore (36) have selected their numbers. Rookie Hugh Greenwood will wear the No.20 in his first season at the Club. The remaining numbers, including those of our new draftees Wayne Milera and Tom Doedee, will be revealed over the coming days.
