Coach Don Pyke and Adelaide players showed off their skills at the 2016 Drummond Golf Crows Classic on Monday.

Taylor Walker, Richard Douglas, Sam Jacobs, David Mackay, Brad Crouch, Jarryd Lyons, Mitch McGovern and Dean Gore, CEO Andrew Fagan and Club legends including Tony Modra and Darren Jarman were ‘drafted’ into teams comprised of sponsors and fans for a round of the Glenelg Golf Club.

Lyons was the pick of the players, while seasoned pro Pyke demonstrated why he plays off scratch.

The Corporal Security team took out the Ambrose competition with a score of 52. Brownlow Medallist and current Board Member Mark Ricciuto (pictured below) helped the Romeo’s Retail Group to second place, while the Orora team finished close behind in third.

Jeremy Hackett of the Romeo’s Retail Group (One) also took out the longest drive on Hole 18. Quiet achiever Gore was the nearest to the pin of the Crows players, but the overall winners were Dan Johnston (Adelaide Football Club Team 1) and Darren Greatrex of the Forty Winks/Greatrex team.

A new Toyota was up for grabs for a hole in one, but the car was returned to the garage after no one was able to achieve the difficult feat. A ‘substitute’ vest was introduced on the first hole, with teams able to nominate one player to sit out the hole.

Adelaide’s most-vested player, Lyons, avoided being subbed out but assistant coach David Teague, COO Nigel Smart and former Australian cricketer and media personality Wayne Phillips (pictured below) weren’t so lucky!
