Rory Laird has been named in AFL Media’s Team of the Week for the second week in succession.

The 22-year-old defender was once again named in the back pocket following his impressive performance on Saturday afternoon against Richmond at Etihad Stadium.

Unlucky to miss All Australian selection in 2015, Laird continued his fine start to the season against the Tigers with 25 possessions at 80 per cent efficiency along with six rebound 50ms.

Laird was the only Crow to be named in the AFL’s Team of the Week for Round Three. Fellow backman Brodie Smith and midfield pair Scott Thompson and Rory Sloane could consider themselves particularly unlucky to be overlooked by selectors.

Adelaide’s next opponent, Sydney, was one of three clubs to have three players feature in this week’s team. Gold Coast and the Western Bulldogs also had three representatives.

In-form Swans midfielder Luke Parker is the only player who has been named in every AFL Team of the Week so far this season.
