The Crows Children’s Foundation is helping young Crows fans with disabilities join the atmosphere at Adelaide Oval in Season 2016.

For many living with disability, the opportunity to attend an AFL game at Adelaide Oval is a dream that often goes unfulfilled.

But the Crows Children’s Foundation has joined forces with the new AFL4ME program to help disabled children experience the thrill of live football at five Crows home games throughout the year.

This campaign is run by the Intellectual Disability Association of South Australia (IDSA) and funded by Adtrans Automotive, who each year hold the Adtrans Charity Golf Day to raise money for a variety of charities.

The Crows Children’s Foundation donates all tickets to the cause, Adelaide Oval opens up reserved rooms with easy access for the children to view the game from, while the IDSA covers catering requirements.

The Foundation also arranges for player visits during the quarter-time breaks to add to the experience.

The Club hosted its first group of disabled supporters through the program at Adelaide’s Round Six clash with Fremantle.

Crows midfielder Nathan van Berlo said it was a small way for the Club to make a big difference.

“It’s one of the great things the footy club were able to get behind,” he said.

“When you see it come to fruition on a day like today and you see the smile on the kids’ faces it makes it all worthwhile.”
