Taylor Walker’s five-goal haul against Greater Western Sydney has lifted him into outright third spot on Adelaide’s all-time goalkicking leaderboard.

Walker, 26, drew level with AFL legend Andrew McLeod on 275 goals last weekend, and overtook the two-time premiership player and Norm Smith Medallist with his first goal on Saturday night.

Walker went on to kick another four goals in Adelaide’s win over the Giants to improve his career tally to 280. It was his second straight bag of five goals, catapulting him to equal-10th in the Coleman Medal race with 24.

The Crows skipper only needs another 13 goals to overtake Brownlow Medallist and good mate Mark Ricciuto (292 goals) in second spot.

Walker still has some work to do to catch cult hero and his childhood idol, Tony Modra, and become the Club’s greatest-ever goalkicker. Modra booted an incredible 440 goals in just 118 games (one more than Walker has currently played) to secure the mantle at West Lakes.

A couple of other Crows are also closing in on goalkicking milestones.

Key forward Josh Jenkins, who has played 79 games, needs two more majors to reach 150 AFL goals.

Eddie Betts, who has kicked 141 goals in 55 games for Adelaide, needs another nine to achieve the 150-mark as a Crow. He’s kicked a career total of 431 goals.

Tom Lynch (98) is two goals-shy of his 100th Crows goal.
