Three Crows feature in AFL Media’s Team of the Week for Round 10, with an in-form forward earning his first appearance of the season.

Taylor Walker was unlucky to be overlooked in last round’s Team of the Week after bagging five goals against Gold Coast, but selectors couldn’t ignore the captain’s latest haul.

Walker’s latest five-goal effort against Greater Western Sydney saw him claim a forward pocket in the AFL’s Team of the Week. The strong-marking Crow also had 18 possessions and a game-high 10 marks to earn his maiden Team of the Week guernsey of 2016.

Fellow forward Eddie Betts joins ‘Tex’ in the opposite pocket in this week’s team after the small forward produced his own five-goal performance against the Giants on Saturday night.

The livewire Crow relishes the big stage and starred as part of Adelaide’s Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round celebrations. Betts’ five-goal performance came from 15 disposals, three marks and three tackles and also included not one, but two Goal of the Year contenders.

It’s the second time this season that Betts has been named in the AFL’s Team of the Week.

Crows forwards top coaches votes

All Australian defender Daniel Talia also earned his second spot in the side this season after nullifying GWS spearhead Jeremy Cameron.

Talia was named at centre half-back in the Team of the Week for the second week in succession for his job on the Giants star, who could only manage one goal in Saturday night’s clash at Adelaide Oval.

The 2014 Club Champion also won his fair share of the ball as well, gathering 20 possessions and claiming seven marks – including three from opposition kicks.

Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs also had three representatives in the Round 10 Team of the Week, but Sydney led the way with four players included after the Swans’ win over ladder leaders North Melbourne. Collingwood, Carlton and Hawthorn all had two players named in this week’s team.

Rory Laird (three times), Josh Jenkins (twice), Rory Sloane, Rory Atkins, Scott Thompson and Tom Lynch are the other Crows who have been recognised in AFL Media’s Team of the Week throughout the course of the season so far.
