Alex Keath will play his first game in a month when Adelaide’s SANFL team confronts ladder leaders Sturt on Saturday afternoon at Peter Motley Oval.

The key defender was a late withdrawal from the Club’s Round Seven win over North Adelaide due to knee soreness. Keath’s last outing was against South Adelaide in early May.

He’ll start at full-back for Saturday’s clash with the Double Blues in what will be just his third game of football in the last eight years.

Fellow left-footer Harrison Wigg also returns to Adelaide’s SANFL line-up after serving as the Club’s travelling emergency for the trip to Metricon Stadium a fortnight ago. His last match was against the Roosters four weeks ago.

Brad Crouch will continue to build his form at SANFL level, while younger brother Matt Crouch, defender Rory Laird and wingman David Mackay have all been included on an extended interchange for Sunday’s AFL clash with St Kilda at Adelaide Oval. The Club will name its final AFL side at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.

Development players Trent Heffernan and Scott Spriggs will start on the interchange bench.

Riley Knight (ankle), Sam Shaw (concussion) and Curtly Hampton (foot) are the only Crows sidelined by injury this weekend.

The SANFL had a league-wide bye due to last Sunday’s State Game against the VFL at Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide won both meetings between the Crows and Double Blues last season, including a Club-record 107-point victory in Round 18. Several ex-Crows will suit up against their former club on Saturday in Brodie Martin, Aidan Riley, James Battersby and Jack Osborn as Sturt hunts its seventh straight win.
