Adelaide’s three Rorys have all been included in the AFL’s Team of the Week for Round 14.

Rory Laird, Rory Sloane and Rory Atkins were all rewarded for standout performances against North Melbourne on Thursday night.

Laird amassed 20 possessions at 80 per cent efficiency and claimed four marks, including a courageous Mark of the Year contender in front of Kangaroos forward Ben Brown.

Laird, who was unlucky to miss out on All Australian selection last year, is compiling an incredibly consistent season and has now earned five Team of the Week titles despite missing four games to injury. Laird was named in a back pocket in this week’s team.

Sloane could also be in line for his first All Australian blazer after yet another sublime performance against North Melbourne last Thursday.

The 26-year-old midfielder collected 30 possessions (19 contested), earned seven clearances and had a round-best 13 tackles on his way to his third Team of the Week selection of the season. Sloane was named as rover in the Round 14 team.

Atkins was another star performer under the Thursday night lights at Adelaide Oval.

The left-footer had 21 disposals, six marks and kicked a goal against the Kangaroo. Atkins also had an equal-round high 15 score involvements. The fourth-year Crow claimed a wing in the AFL’s latest Team of the Week.

It’s the fourth time this year that Adelaide has had three representatives included in the AFL’s Team of the Week.

St Kilda and Greater Western Sydney both had four players included in this week’s team. Richmond and Hawthorn joined Adelaide with three representatives, while Collingwood and Gold Coast both had two players feature.

Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins (both three times), Daniel Talia (twice), Scott Thompson, Tom Lynch and Taylor Walker are the other Crows who have been recognised in AFL Media’s Team of the Week throughout the course of the season so far.
