Crows midfielder Rory Sloane has been voted the AFL's Player of the Round after his sublime performance against North Melbourne.

Sloane attracted 35 per cent of the total vote compiled on the AFL’s official Twitter account, edging out Richmond star Dustin Martin (30 per cent) and St Kilda youngster Seb Ross (24 per cent). Greater Western Sydney onballer Dylan Shiel received 11 per cent of the vote.

Sloane collected 30 disposals, including a match-high 19 contested possessions, along with 13 tackles, seven clearances and four inside 50ms in a complete performance. He was the AFL’s top Fantasy performer for the round, was lauded by both Don Pyke and Brad Scott in the AFLCA Coaches Votes, and was voted Adelaide’s best in the Fans’ MVP poll.

Josh Jenkins is the only other Crow to win the award this season. The forward was voted the Round Seven AFL Player of the Round for his eight-goal effort against the Western Bulldogs.

Sloane was also nominated in Round Six for his 31-possession best-on-ground display against Fremantle, but was voted runner-up to GWS goalkicker Steve Johnson.
