The Crows will finish the home and away season in a Friday night blockbuster against West Coast at Adelaide Oval on August 26.

The match between the current sixth-placed Crows and fifth-placed Eagles, which starts at 7:40pm (local), could play a significant role in determining the order of the top eight leading into finals.

It will be Adelaide’s third Friday night fixture of the season following the Round Five clash with Hawthorn at the MCG, and a home game against Geelong in Round Eight.

The AFL canvased the idea of the clash between Adelaide and West Coast being played on the Monday night.

Adelaide CEO Andrew Fagan said he was pleased the AFL had listened to the Club’s concerns about a possible Monday fixture.

“Our fans demonstrate week in week out that they are among the most passionate and loyal going around,” Fagan said.

“It was only fair that we fought hard on their behalf to ensure as many of them as possible could attend our last minor round game.

“It is our member appreciation round and we have a few long-standing traditions which will now be showcased in the marquee timeslot in front of a packed Adelaide Oval.”

It was the AFL’s view that the Adelaide Crows v West Coast match should be scheduled on the Friday night as a match involving two current top-eight sides, which was likely to have a big impact on ladder positions.

The North Melbourne v GWS Giants match was the other consideration to be played on Friday night, involving two current top-eight sides, but was scheduled for the key Saturday night timeslot to provide North Melbourne with a seven-day break (noting they have had more six-day breaks than any other club this season) and to provide the Giants with prime time coverage as they seek to contest their maiden finals series.

Tickets to Adelaide’s final game of the minor round will go on sale to eligible members on Thursday, August 4. Eligible members will be able to purchase four tickets per barcode. The general public will have access to tickets from Friday, August 5.

More ticketing information will be communicated in the coming days.
