Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs has been ruled out of Saturday night’s clash with the Brisbane Lions.

Jacobs rolled his ankle in the second quarter of Adelaide’s win over Essendon on Sunday.

GM of High Performance Brett Burton said the Club wouldn’t take any risks with the 28-year-old.

“Scans on Sam’s ankle have confirmed a low-grade ankle sprain, which will keep him sidelined for this week,” Burton said.

“Fortunately, the injury isn’t serious. Sam will be re-assessed next week and is a chance to play against Fremantle.”

Rookie-listed forward Keenan Ramsey also sustained an ankle injury on the weekend.

Ramsey was injured when he landed awkwardly in a marking contest during the third quarter of Adelaide’s SANFL win over the Port Magpies.

Burton said the goalkicker would be sidelined for a longer period than Jacobs.

“Keenan’s scan results have also revealed an ankle sprain, however, we expect him to be out for at least three weeks.”
