Emerging midfielder Matt Crouch rounded out the AFL Fantasy season in style, equaling his career-best score in Adelaide’s 29-point loss to West Coast on Friday night.

Crouch led all comers on the ground to record 128 Fantasy points from 29 possessions, including 10 tackles, five marks and five clearances.

The 21-year-old has really hit his straps late in the season and Friday night’s performance was his fifth Fantasy ton in his past six outings. It equals his best ever score, which he recorded against Geelong back in Round 18.

Over the last five games, Crouch has been the most consistent Crow, averaging an elite 108.4 Fantasy points, well clear of second-placed Rory Laird who averaged 100.4 over that period.

Crouch is sure to attract great interest amongst coaches heading into 2017. If his charge towards the end of this season is anything to go by, the young onballer looks set to take another leap forward next year.

After a down week in Round 22 against Port Adelaide, Scott Thompson was back amongst the Crows’ best Fantasy performers on Friday night against West Coast.

The 305-game veteran had 23 disposals, nine tackles and six clearances for a total of 110 Fantasy points.

Like Crouch, Thompson has finished 2016 in emphatic fashion, with three Fantasy tons in his last four matches and an average score of 102.3 over his past three.

Rory Laird was the third and final Crow to score 100-plus Fantasy points in Friday’s loss to the Eagles

The 22-year-old defender again showed his ball-winning prowess, amassing 28 touches, including six marks and four tackles for a Fantasy total of 101.

Despite missing six games through injury, Laird has shown stellar consistency in season 2016.

Over his last 10 games, he has scored less than 100 points on only three occasions, justifying his popularity amongst the nearly 22 per cent of Fantasy coaches that selected him.

Also worthy of a mention for Adelaide is Brad Crouch, who rounded out 2016 with a solid, albeit not spectacular performance on Friday night.

Crouch had 21 possessions, seven tackles and a goal for a total of 91 Fantasy points.

It hasn’t been a spectacular Fantasy year for 22-year-old midfielder, who averaged 86.9 points through 14 games played this season. However, with another full pre-season under his belt, Crouch will be hoping for a big 2017 campaign.

This season, over 1,000 teams entered the Adelaide Football Club’s AFL Fantasy league. ‘The Bucket Hats’ coached by Mark Nielsen came out on top at the end of the season with 49,179 total points at an average of 2138.22 per-round.

The winner will receive a 2016 Adelaide Crows home guernsey.
