Season 2016 was by far Adelaide’s most successful SANFL season. The SANFL Crows won 11 minor round games and two finals to finish third overall. Adelaide won eight games to sit seventh on the SANFL ladder last year and claimed seven games in the Club’s debut SANFL to finish eighth in 2014.

The Crows broke two Club records at SANFL level this season. Adelaide’s score of 27.17 (179) in the Round 21 win over West Adelaide was its biggest in any SANFL match.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Adelaide equaled its heaviest SANFL defeat in the Crows’ 55-point loss to Central District in Round 13.

Adelaide was the only club to average more than 200 kicks per game in the SANFL this year. The Crows were also second for average disposals per match (350) behind minor premiers Woodville-West Torrens.

The SANFL Crows ranked No.1 in the League for marks (97), inside 50ms (47) and score assists (14.6) per match.

Adelaide ranked fourth for goalkicking accuracy of all SANFL teams this year with 62 per cent conversion. South Adelaide was the most accurate side (65 per cent).

Adelaide received 286 free kicks during the SANFL home and away season – ranked last in the competition behind Port Adelaide in ninth place (356). South Adelaide received the most free kicks with 479.

The SANFL Crows attacked through the middle of the ground more than any other team, with 77 per cent of Adelaide’s score coming from the centre corridor.

Brad Crouch averaged the most possessions per game of any player in the SANFL this season with 34 possessions from four games.

Adelaide fielded 13 development players this season for a combined total of 76 matches. Five played their first games for the Club with two of those also making their SANFL debut this year.
