Adelaide’s first-year players have been officially welcomed into the competition at the AFL Players’ Association Induction Camp in Melbourne.

Crows draftees Jordan Gallucci, Myles Poholke, Elliott Himmelberg, Matthew Signorello and Ben Davis, and father-son rookie Ben Jarman are among the AFL's 125 new players in attendance at the two-day camp at Etihad Stadium, which kicked off on Monday morning.

AFL Players’ Association CEO Paul Marsh and dual premiership Hawk Brad Sewell kicked off the meet with a group address.

Recently retired North Melbourne midfielder Nick Dal Santo hosted the day's proceedings which also featured a keynote address from Brownlow Medallist Jimmy Bartel. St Kilda youngster Jade Gresham, former West Coast defender Mitch Brown and former Brisbane and Essendon player James Polkinghorne also took part in an informative panel discussion.

AFLPA President Matthew Pavlich helped welcome the newcomers via a special video message.

The draftees are briefed throughout the camp on various topics relevant to life in an elite sporting environment.

Agenda items include health and well-being, career development, financial education, personal brand, respectful relationships, gambling awareness, the anti-doping code and the illicit drugs policy.

The camp has been a central part of the AFL’s induction process over the past 17 years.
