A second Lever has landed at West Lakes with Tyson Lever, younger brother of Jake, joining Adelaide’s SANFL development squad.

Lever, who turned 18 in October, is a bullish inside midfielder who can push forward and kick goals.

The second of four Lever siblings, Tyson followed in the footsteps of his older brother as a youngster, beginning his football career with local club the Romsey Redbacks in central Victoria.

The Levers played together on several occasions at Romsey despite their age gap, as Tyson often played above his age level when his brother’s side needed numbers.

Like Jake, Tyson progressed to the TAC Cup competition with the Calder Cannons.

He played 17 matches last year and averaged 18 possessions, six tackles and five marks a game. Lever placed fifth in the team’s best and fairest count and won Calder’s ‘Team Targets’ award.

Tyson also shares his brother’s leadership qualities, having served as stand-in captain for the Cannons on a number of occasions last season.

He also made his VFL debut for Coburg late in the year against Richmond and was named among the team’s best players.

Tyson is in the process of relocating to Adelaide to move in with Jake and his partner Jess.

Adelaide’s SANFL development squad returned to training this week at Thebarton Oval under new Crows SANFL coach Ryan O’Keefe.

The Club’s plays its opening SANFL trial match on Saturday, March 25 against Woodville-West Torrens at Football Park.
