Young defender Tom Doedee will play his first game of the year in Adelaide’s Easter Sunday SANFL clash with South Adelaide.

Doedee, 20, has been cleared to confront the Panthers at Encounter Bay Oval after overcoming knee soreness.

The athletic backman was Adelaide’s second pick at the 2015 AFL National Draft and finished seventh in last year’s State League Club Champion count.

Doedee replaces livewire forward Troy Menzel, who has been recalled to Adelaide’s senior team for Saturday night’s AFL clash with Essendon.

First-year draftee Jordan Gallucci and ruckman Reilly O’Brien are among the emergencies for the Round Four match against the Bombers.

Jonathon Beech, who has been promoted to Adelaide’s senior squad, is also an AFL emergency. The 26-year-old will play his 150th SANFL game on Sunday if not required for AFL action.

Development players Kurt Waterman and Blake Launer are the other inclusions into Adelaide’s SANFL squad. A 21-man team will be finalised on game day.

Midfielder Brad Crouch will continue to build match fitness after a successful return to SANFL action last round.

Fellow onballer Scott Thompson is set for another weekend on the sidelines due to groin soreness.

Encounter Bay is in the heart of South Adelaide’s SANFL recruiting zone. The Great Southern Football League club also has close ties to the Crows, with several former players representing the Eagles after retiring from AFL action.

Sunday’s clash will be the first SANFL match at the venue since 2009. Read the full match preview

The match begins at 2.10pm at Encounter Bay Oval. Crows ticketed members receive free entry to the clash upon presentation of their 2017 Membership card.

Fans can tune in to a live audio stream via the SANFL’s official website or smartphone app.
