Promising defender Jake Lever is set to return from a hamstring concern this weekend.

Lever, 21, missed Adelaide’s clash with Melbourne on Saturday night because of hamstring tightness.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass was pleased with Lever’s progress.

“He (Lever) will train with the group on Wednesday and be available on the weekend,” he said.

Defender Kyle Cheney (hamstring) and utility Alex Keath (hamstring) have also been cleared to play.

The pair is yet to line-up in a game for premiership points at either level this year.

“It’s positive news for Kyle Cheney and Alex Keath,” Hass said.

“They’ll both make an appearance this weekend in the SANFL in their return from hamstring injuries.”

Half-forwards Riley Knight and Troy Menzel will need to pass fitness tests to be available for selection.

Menzel sustained a corked quad against the Demons, while Knight sat out the game after suffering a corked glute in the Club’s loss to North Melbourne the week prior.

“Troy received a really heavy cork to the quad,” Hass said.

“He’ll be assessed day-by-day and be a ‘test’ later on in the week.

“Riley continues to be quite sore and was quite sore through last week.

“We’ve got him up and running early this week.

“He needs to build on that and get a main session in later this week.”

Forward Mitch McGovern remains on track in his recovery from a serious hamstring injury.

“Mitch has begun running and some football skills,” Hass said.

“He’ll be re-introduced to some skills with the group in the coming weeks and we expect him to be available mid-season.”

Wingman Paul Seedsman (groin) is also aiming for a return in the middle of the year.
