Eddie Betts and Tom Lynch have both been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year for Round Nine.

Reigning winner Betts is up for his second nomination of the season for his miraculous snap through traffic early in the second term at the Gabba.

The 30-year-old won the ball back off Brisbane’s Darcy Gardiner before dribbling the goal through on his left boot from deep in the forward pocket.

Betts, who has won the last two Goals of the Year in a row, kicked three majors against the Lions and had a match-high four goal assists.

Lynch’s nomination was Adelaide’s opening goal of the game at the other end of the ground.

The hard-running forward received a handball from Matt Crouch and set sail from just inside the 50m arc while tucked up hard against the boundary line.

Lynch’s kick sailed through sweetly for his first Goal of the Year nomination of the season.
