Midfielder Curtly Hampton will be sidelined for up to three months after undergoing ankle surgery.

Hampton, 24, injured his ankle in Adelaide’s win over the Brisbane Lions a fortnight ago.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass said it was a disappointing setback for Hampton, who played the opening nine AFL games of the season.

“After gathering all the available information, it was decided the best course of action for Curtly was to have surgery to repair the damage,” Hass said.

“Unfortunately for Curtly and the Club, it means he spends a significant amount of time on the sidelines.”

The Club will issue a full Dr Jones & Partners Injury Update on Tuesday.
