Injury Update: Round 11

May 30, 2017 11:35 AM

Dr Jones & Partners Injury Update: May 30 Crows GM of High Performance Matt Hass gives an update on the health of the Crows list.

Injured Crows Mitch McGovern and Paul Seedsman are set to return within a fortnight.

McGovern suffered a serious hamstring injury in Adelaide’s Round Three Showdown win, while Seedsman is yet to play at any level this year because of lingering groin soreness.

Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass said both players were close to a comeback.

“Paul Seedsman and Mitch McGovern trained fully with the group last week,” Hass said.

“They’ll continue that again this week and are on track to re-join the SANFL group in the next 1 – 2 weeks.”

As announced on Monday night, midfielder Curtly Hampton has undergone ankle surgery.

Hampton, who injured his ankle against the Brisbane Lions in Round Nine, will be sidelined for up to three months.

“Curtly Hampton had surgery last Friday to repair his high-ankle sprain,” Hass said.

“That’s usually about a 12-week recovery.

“All things going well, we hope to see Curtly back at either level later this year.”

Troy Menzel is likely to train with the main group on Tuesday as he continues his recovery from a corked quad sustained in Adelaide’s Round Eight loss to Melbourne.

Fellow forward Riley Knight made a successful return from a corked glute in the SANFL on Saturday.

Pleasingly, the Crows reported no new injuries at either level on the weekend.

Onballer Cam Ellis-Yolmen reached a milestone in his rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction by running last week.

Injury list as of Tuesday, May 30

Mitch McGovern (hamstring) – 1 – 2 weeks
