Adelaide forward Mitch McGovern can accept a $1,000 fine for striking Carlton utility Jacob Weitering.

The incident during the third quarter at the MCG on Saturday was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the body, resulting in a $1,500 sanction.

McGovern has no applicable record which impacts the penalty, and can accept a $1,000 sanction with an early plea.
