Adelaide captain Taylor Walker can accept a fine for striking Melbourne midfielder Jordan Lewis.

The incident occurred following an altercation between the pair in the first quarter at TIO Stadium on Saturday night. Walker was penalised with a free kick against at the time.

Based on the available evidence, the contact was assessed as intentional conduct with low impact to the body. The incident was classified as a $1,500 sanction.

Walker has no applicable record which impacts the penalty, enabling him to accept a $1,000 fine with an early plea.

The striking charge is the forward’s first Classifiable Offence this season.

Last week, Walker was fined $1,000 for misconduct after applying a shepherd that resulted in Western Bulldogs defender Jason Johannisen making contact with a goalpost.

Misconduct isn’t considered a ‘Classifiable Offence’ and doesn’t count towards loading.

A one-match suspension results only if a player is found guilty of three (or more) Classifiable Offences in the same season.

Demons onballer Bernie Vince was found guilty of two separates charges.

Vince can accept a two-game ban for striking Eddie Betts.
