Only one Crow has been named in the AFL’s Team of the Week in the wake of Adelaide’s loss to Sydney.

Crows vice-captain Rory Sloane forced his way into the side with another strong midfield performance last Friday night.

Sloane amassed 29 possessions, including a game-high 20 contested, despite close attention from young Swan Isaac Heeney. The 27-year-old also laid 14 tackles, earned nine clearances and kicked a goal to nearly will his team over the line.

Sloane has been named on the ball in the Round 22 Team of the Week in his ninth appearance of the year – the most of any Crow in 2017.

By the numbers: Round 22

It’s the first time any Crow has been named in the AFL’s Team of the Week following a loss this year.

Greater Western Sydney and Sydney had three representatives each in this week’s side ahead of Richmond, Port Adelaide, Melbourne and Carlton with two apiece. Essendon, Gold Coast, the Western Bulldogs, Geelong, St Kilda, Brisbane West Coast joined Adelaide with one player to feature.
