Adelaide has completed a clean sweep of the Gary Ayres Award voting from Friday night’s win over Geelong.

Livewire forward Charlie Cameron received nine votes from coaches Don Pyke and Chris Scott following his career-best five-goal haul against the Cats in Adelaide’s Preliminary Final win.

The former rookie sparked his side with five majors from 19 disposals, six marks and five inside 50ms.

All Australian defender Rory Laird polled eight votes in his 100th AFL game.

The courageous Crow had a team-high 32 disposals at an incredible 91 per cent efficiency in his customary role across half-back. Laird also took a career-best 15 marks and generated a match-high six rebound 50ms.

Tough midfielders Rory Sloane (four votes) and Brad Crouch (three) were recognised by the coaches, as was reliable backman Daniel Talia (four), who held Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins to eight disposals and one goal.

Tom Lynch and Paul Seedsman, who both booted two goals in Adelaide’s crushing win over the Cats, received one vote apiece.

Brad Crouch sits in fourth place on the AFLCA Gary Ayres Award overall leaderboard on 11 votes, while Cameron’s nine-vote haul has propelled him into eighth spot.

Richmond’s Dustin Martin leads the way with 17 votes from two finals appearances.

The AFLCA Gary Ayres Award was coined last year to recognise the most outstanding player of the AFL Finals Series.
