Sam Gibson has made a good first impression at his new club, taking out the 2km time trial as Adelaide’s full squad returned to training.

The Club’s senior players joined their 1-4 year teammates for the first time this pre-season on Monday.

After 130-consecutive games for North Melbourne, Gibson was traded to the Crows in October.

The reliable wingman, who is renowned for his work ethic and endurance, crossed the line first in the time trial.

Defender Jake Kelly claimed place second ahead of vice-captain Rory Sloane.

The best performers in last month’s time trial of young Crows, Riley Knight and Wayne Milera Junior, didn’t participate in Monday’s run at the Adelaide Athletics Stadium.

Draftee Andrew McPherson, who is on the comeback from a hamstring injury, also got his summer off to a good start with a strong performance in group two.
