AFLW: Pair reprimanded

Deni Varnhagen will be free to play against Fremantle this week.

Deni Varnhagen and Eloise Jones have accepted reprimands for separate incidents in Adelaide’s 35-point win over Carlton on Saturday night.

Varnhagen was charged with making forceful contact from front-on against Blues onballer Sarah Hosking during the first quarter at Norwood Oval.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction, but Varnhagen was able to accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Jones was charged with engaging in rough conduct against Gabrielle Pound in the fourth quarter.

Collingwood captain Steph Chiocci will miss the Round Seven clash with the Crows after being charged with making forceful contact from front-on against Western Bulldog Libby Birch on the weekend.

Chiocci accepted a two-match sanction with an early plea.
