Hugh Greenwood will build more match fitness at SANFL level after being named to play in Adelaide’s second State League trial match against Port Adelaide on Friday.

Greenwood, who had surgery before Christmas to correct a lingering Achilles injury, was limited to one JLT Community Series game.

The big-bodied midfielder has been named as an emergency for the Club’s AFL season-opener against Essendon.

Recently announced leadership group members Paul Hunter and Reilly O’Brien have been named in the SANFL team, along with the newly re-signed Elliott Himmelberg.

Jordan Gallucci, Wayne Milera Junior, Kyle Cheney, Myles Poholke, Patrick Wilson, Ben Davis, Harry Dear, Ben Jarman and Matthew Signorello are the other AFL-listed players named.

Development squad member Michael McMahon has been included for his first game for the SANFL Crows.

Defender William Rivers will also play his first game, after only receiving the permit to clear him as a member of the development squad earlier this week.
