The Ready Set Crow (RSC) team has had a busy start to the year, with three schools making short term visits to Adelaide and the team taking trips to the Far West and APY Lands regions.
The program aims to engage, support, retain and promote the education of remote students by facilitating secondary school opportunities in Adelaide.
A key part of this is regular community liaison visits each term to the Far West and APY Lands regions led by Andrew McLeod together with project officers Eddie Hocking and Mark Mueller.
The program supports students and families who take up the opportunity to experience life in Adelaide, by way of a short term or transitional visit to Wiltja Boarding and The Wiltja Anangu Secondary College.
Students from Indulkana, Pipalyatjara and Yalata were the first to enjoy short term visits to Adelaide this year.
The visiting students get a behind-the-scenes look at the Adelaide Football Club and are able to spend time within the facilities as part of the short term visit.

It’s not all fun and games though, with the RSC team utilising time to explain the Ready Set Crow Program to the students, including the way that the project team work with schools and students and their families.
Students also complete activities on personal identity and family history, which allows project staff to gain a deeper understanding of each individual and further build relationships.
The Ready Set Crow project is proudly funded by the Australian Government and delivered in partnership with Wiltja Boarding and The Wiltja Anangu Secondary College and the Department of Education and Childhood Development.
