Being a non-playing emergency may not be the most desirable role for AFL players, but it is an important one.

To ensure they are ready for the following week's game, a team's emergencies are sometimes required to participate in training sessions straight after an AFL game, with a handful of Crows taking to Adelaide Oval after the Round Eight Showdown loss to Port Adelaide.

On this Saturday’s episode of The Crows Show, Adelaide ruckman Reilly O’Brien and Sports Science Coordinator Jarryd Wallace let us know their thoughts on these post-game sessions.

“(It's) probably the most hated role for the players," Wallace said.

"They have to sit there and watch the game of footy and unfortunately they don’t get the joys of playing but they do have to do some sort of training post game."

Also on the show, as we head to Alice Springs for Sunday’s clash with the Demons, it continues the drive for the Club's push into the Northern Territory.

We get to hear from Mark Bickley and his thoughts on the game's congestion and defensive tactics, how to get the best seats each week and see our favourite Crows and who their sporting idols are.

For the full interviews and more behind-the-scenes insights tune in to Channel Seven at 2.00pm on Saturday for The Crows Show, brought to you by Foodland.

The show will then be available on our website and app. It is also replayed nationally on 7Mate early in the week. Please check your local TV guides.
