All Australian Rory Laird is Adelaide’s No. 1 ranked player in 2018, and the League’s No. 1 defender averaging 111 Champion Data ranking points per game. Laird ranks ahead of Hawthorn’s James Sicily, Carlton’s Kade Simpson and Sydney’s Jake Lloyd.

The star defender ranks second in the AFL for average disposals (32.9 per game – 11 games), behind only Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell (34.6 per game – 12 games). Matt Crouch ranks ninth (29.8 per game – nine games).

Laird also ranks No. 1 in the AFL for loose ball gets (5.5 per game) and uncontested possessions (20.5 per game).

Bryce Gibbs is the Crows’ top-ranked midfielder, with 96.2 ranking points per game.

Josh Jenkins is the team’s leading goalkicker so far in 2018, with 21 majors from 13 games. Eddie Betts (19 goals) and Taylor Walker (18 goals) sit just behind him.

Jenkins also leads his team for goal assists with 10, tied with wingman Paul Seedsman.

Seedsman leads the league for metres gained, averaging 555.4 per game. He ranks above prolific Giants pair Heath Shaw and Josh Kelly.

Adelaide ranks second in the league for kicks per game (223.5), behind West Coast (228.3).

The Crows also rank second for contested possessions (154.8 per game), hard ball gets (51.3 per game), and loose ball gets (61.3 per game).

Hugh Greenwood is Adelaide’s leading contested ball winner, with 12.9 contested possessions per game (10th in the AFL). Greenwood is also his side’s No. 1 tackler, with seven per game (equal eighth in the AFL).

Paul Seedsman and Rory Laird both rank top three in the AFL for long kicks per game for players who have played more than one game in 2018, with 6.9 per game and 6.2 per game respectively. Hawk James Sicily sits second with 6.4 per game.

Adelaide concedes the least free kicks of any team in the competition, with 17.5 per game.

Sam Jacobs (293 centre bounce involvements) and Bryce Gibbs (274) both rank top 10 in the AFL for centre bounce involvements.

At the same point in 2017, the Crows averaged 118.8 points scored per game with a +35-average differential. In 2018, they average 82.8 points scored per game with a +0.3-average differential.

Adelaide has more one-on-one offensive contests than any other team (20.5 per game), winning 32.6 per cent of them.
